Q1. What were the major political, economic and social developments in the world which motivated the anti-national struggles in India?

    If chronology of events and process is ignored, India has similar historical trend and causes of national movements and abolition of feudal and colonial system as contemporary world. In India, caprice of revolution and socialism was influenced and inspired by erstwhile French and Russian revolution.

    Political and Economical :- The idea of liberty and democratic rights were the most important legacy of the french revolution. Tipu Sultan and Raja Rammohan Roy were the people who responded to the ideas coming from revolutionary France.

    Ideology of Karl Marx and Lenin regarding communism during Russian revolution ,deeply influenced people across globe. By the mid1920s communist party was formed in India. Indian political and cultural figures took interest in Soviet experiment and visited Russia. Jawaharlal Nehru and Rabindranath Tagore were among them.

    Up to a certain extent, Ideas and values enshrined in Indian Constitution were inspired by the principles of first democratic constitution adopted by France.

    Social:- Social reformers in India were motivated by the laws introduced by newly elected revolutionary Jacobin government for improvement of women’s deteriorated condition.
