The modification in longitudinal Marking to 78° has posed many problems to Indian fisherman. The long running case of Enrica Lexie – Italian Marines shot two Indian fisherman in 2012 is an important event for Indian government to push the IMO(International Maritime Org) for remedies to avoid issues. The actual issue on Enrica Lexie Marine Shooting is that the fishermen were hardly 22 nautical miles from coast of Kerala and it wasn’t supposed to be pirated zone. India is trying hard to change this longitudinal marking to old value to avoid further serious issues in future.
